Contact Us

The Uganda Fund welcomes your inquiries and ideas about our ongoing efforts in northern Uganda. General volunteer opportunities are limited, however specific requests that are attached to some kind of research or ongoing project work can sometimes be accommodated.

We receive many requests for funding and are unable to provide support for all the great projects in the region. If you would like to introduce us to your organization and seek financial support, please adhere to the following email guidelines:

  • write Request for Funding in the subject of your email followed by the name of your organization (for example, Request for Funding: Empowering Hands)

  • include a brief summary of your project including background, goals, activities, successes, challenges, target population and leadership

  • provide a local address, telephone number and contact person

  • indicate current sources of support

  • indicate the level of support you seek from the Uganda Fund

All funding requests are sent to the Uganda Fund project director in Gulu, who undertakes a rigorous screening process, including multiple site visits and meetings prior to making funding recommendations to the Uganda Fund board of directors. The Board then makes final funding decisions. In its grantees the Uganda Fund looks for sound organizational structure, clearly stated goals and realistic timeframes for achieving them, adherence to Uganda Funds program focus areas; long-term commitment to the region, and potential for sustainability.
