Director of Human Rights and International Justice, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation 

Mary R. Page is Director of Human Rights and International Justice in the Program on Global Security and Sustainability at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Grants in this area are made to strengthen a core of human rights advocates working globally, further the international justice system, and advance a human rights culture in Russia, Nigeria and Mexico. She joined the Foundation in 1990 as a program officer in the Program on Peace and International Cooperation, where she had responsibilities for grantmaking in the areas of conventional arms policy, Middle East regional security, and U.S. military production and budgets. From l998 – 2000 she was Associate Director of the U.S. Interests and Responsibilities area, working on public deliberation and the role of the United States in international affairs. Prior to joining the Foundation she was engaged in research and development of computer-assisted instruction programs at Stanford University, mathematics education research at the University of Chicago, and English composition and early childhood education at Holt, Rinehart and Winston, publishers, where she was a Senior Editor. Ms. Page has degrees from Harvard University and the University of Chicago and serves on the board of the Global Philanthropy Partnership.
